Lunatic!

as some of you may know, my PC died. but stuff like that or the fact that I'm on Firefox 1.5 on this amazing machine aren't going to stop me from uploading crappy photos, is it? :D hehe

there, taken with my trusty Sony point-and-click held at the end of a refracting telescope... really sorry for the crappy image quality, the cam didn't focus properly... :(

p.s: I don't think I'll be able to comment for a while, hopefully my old machine is repaired by Friday... :/

  3. would have looked pretty - if not for the out of focus-ness :D hehe. that being said - there's just something about a full moon.

  4. Poor you.. hope you'd get it fixed soon. And no worries about comments. We can wait. =D

BTW couldn't you have taken it without the telescope? Still it looks nice. ^__^

  7. Thanks everyone for the comments! PC is fixed!!! yay! :D

@Disease: yep, nothing more beautiful than a perfect white orb in the night sky! :D

@The Puppeteer: lol, you and your morbid thoughts! ;)

@black: yes... :( it's pretty tricky to get the camera to align properly with the telescope tube too... this is the best shot I got after about half an hour trying... :)

@Harumi: you can't get this level of detail without a telescope... even at the best zoom level (4x) the moon would've looked about 8 times smaller! :D

@Lady Divine: yeah... major pain! :)

@Kirigalpoththa: haha! :D would you believe me if I said Titan! ;) :D

    @GG: thanks!!! :)

  9. Maks: yep, I see it too!!! O.o and then when I turn my head a bit I see Mickey Mouse! :/

the telescope is pretty old... it's been hanging around in my cupboard so decided to take it out and look at the moon... :S I wanna build a reflecting telescope, I can't see anything beyond the moon with the one I have... :(

Had you taken it with a normal camera only you will see it as small as this

  11. oh really? hmm.. that's too bad. Have to depend on Hubble for a perfect shot then. =D

PS: greatta hear you've fixed it! ^__^

PPS: oh wait.. how come I missed the 'refracting' part.. wow.. lucky you! Yep, do get a reflecting telescope ASAP and take more pics of moon and all the planets and beyond *if that's possible* and share with us.. =D

  12. @K: hehe ;)

thanks for the link K! :D

@Harumi: Hubble is one of the most brilliant things ever put in space, isn't it? I just love looking at those amazing pics of Nebulae and Stars thousands of light years away!!! :D

    thanks! :)

lol, I think buying one would be far too expensive but armature astronomers frequently make reflecting telescopes on their own... :) so as soon as I find a good mirror, I'll start taking pics and posting! ;)

thanks for the comments guys! :)

  13. Ya.. that reminds me.. I had a fine set of photographs of almost all the planets of our solar system sent directly from NASA, when I once wrote to them while schooling I think. But believe it or not, some years back when we had to relocate, that precious file which had all the clippings on Astronomy and the like, and those pics all disappeared! -__-

That was a big shock to me. And thereafter I didn't even get much time to spend on this subject. I miss those times and those pics.. -__-

hehe.. wow.. that's greatta hear. So you're gonna make a one from scratch. Oh and before you take pics of the moon, I'd definitely wanna see a pic of your hand made telescope. =D

  14. @Harumi: wow! they do that? :D that's amazing... so sorry to hear that you lost them though, I understand why you'd be shocked... priceless stuff isn't it? :(

lol, I don't think I'll be making it anytime soon... I've been building a Ukulele for about 2 years now and it's still not finished, so I don't think the telescope will happen anytime soon... :)

Thanks for the comment Harumi! :)
