Kinda gives you a sense of where all the world's resources are concentrated, doesn't it? Information truly is power. And looks like we got 12 of that per square mile right here... hmmm :P
I think they do have Chinese language support, but I think it'll take some time for the market to develop... What I love seeing in maps like this is the contrast between North and South Korea. It cannot be clearly seen here although South Korea is one of the most wired societies on Earth... :)
Think South Korea is 'the' most 'connected' country in the world. They have highest Broadband penetration(As of 2008) and the highest 3G mobile penetration.
I think the picture shows some differenece with N&S. May be not so intense due to language barriers..
Yea I think you're right! and it was one of the first countries where 3G was available on a mass scale, wasn't it?
Yes, the resolution has a factor to play I think. A map of east asia would show the difference more clearly. North Korea has virtually no internet connectivity at all, except maybe some government/military installations. And South Korea as you mentioned is the most connected country in the world. I feel for the North Koreans. It's a sad situation down there...
Good snapshot of current broadband internet usage spread around the world :)
ReplyDeleteYea... and looks like translating Facebook into other languages certainly helped them in Europe and Latin America. :)
ReplyDeleteTime they do the same in chinese :)
